1. Agreement

These Terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of Pocket Money Buddy, including the iOS and Android apps and related websites (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Pocket Money Buddy helps you record and review personal money: wallets, income and expenses, budgets, goals, debts, recurring items, reports, and a financial health score. The app is available in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi. Optional features include cloud sync/backup, receipt scanning, an AI coach, themes, ads on the free plan, and Premium.

We may change, pause, or discontinue features. Free-tier limits (for example ads, backup, or AI usage) can change via app updates or remote configuration.

Not a bank. Pocket Money Buddy is a tracker. It does not hold deposits, move money between bank accounts, issue cards, or provide regulated investment, tax, or credit services.

3. Your account

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age in your country, and able to form a contract.
You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple.
Keep your login details secret. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Provide accurate information. You can update your display name in Settings.
You may sign out at any time. To delete the account and cloud data, email support@pocketmoneybuddy.com (see Contact support).

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the money records, receipts, and messages you add. You grant us a limited licence to store, sync, and process that content only as needed to run the Service (including backup, receipt reading, and coach replies you request). Money data is encrypted on your device before it is stored locally or synced; see the Privacy policy — Encryption.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it is not illegal or harmful.

5. Premium, payments, and ads

Some features require a paid subscription (“Premium”), billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat.
Price, duration, and free-trial terms are shown in the paywall before you buy. Apple or Google handle payment. Their refund and cancellation rules apply.
Manage or cancel auto-renewal in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
The free plan may show AdMob ads. Premium is intended to remove those ads and unlock extra features described in the app.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or that infringes others’ rights.
Probe, overload, or disrupt our systems, or try to access another user’s data.
Reverse engineer the app except where the law allows.
Misuse AI features (for example uploading others’ private documents without permission, or attempting to extract hidden system prompts at scale).
Resell or scrape the Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

7. No financial, tax, or legal advice

Reports, health scores, forecasts, budgets, and coach replies are informational tools based on data you enter. They can be incomplete or wrong. They are not personalised financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You remain responsible for your money decisions. If you need advice, speak to a qualified professional.

AI features may hallucinate merchants, amounts, or recommendations. Check every receipt scan and coach suggestion before you save or act on it.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on Apple, Google, Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat, and AI providers. Their terms also apply when you use those parts. We are not responsible for outages or changes on those platforms.

9. Intellectual property

The Pocket Money Buddy name, logo, design, and app code are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them except as allowed by an open-source licence we ship with the app or by law.

10. Availability and changes

We provide the Service “as is”. Sync, AI, ads, and purchases need a network connection and third-party platforms. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update the app and these Terms; the date at the top will change. If you keep using the Service after an update, the new Terms apply.

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may stop providing the Service or close an account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we shut down the product. After closure, local data on your device remains until you delete the app or reset data; cloud data is handled as described in the Privacy policy.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, indirect or consequential damages, or amounts greater than what you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim (or INR 2,000 if you have not paid). Some places do not allow these limits; in those places our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where that restriction is forbidden).

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have additional consumer rights in your place of residence that we will honour where required.
